Top 3 Online Baccarat Tips

August 26th, 2008

1. Find a reputable online casino to play at. Just because there’s a huge sign-up bonus doesn’t mean it’s the best casino. Play on an established casino site that’s been around and has a good history with its customers. Bodog, English Harbour, and Royal Vegas are all good choices.

2. Play at a limit that meets your bankroll. Only wager half of your bankroll in a session, and break down the number of bets you want to make throughout that session. Divide the amount you wish to wager in the session by the number of bets you want to make, and you’ll have the stake you can play at.

3. The best odds in the game are betting with the bank. Try to make more bets on the bank. Stay away from the tie bet altogether. It’s not a good bet and it gives the house a big edge.

Online Baccarat: Who’s Got the Ultimate Live Experience?

When it comes to online baccarat the sites with the ultimate experience are the live dealer sites. These sites put you right into the casino via a television feed. You watch a live dealer deal cards and you place your bets electronically. There are numerous casinos offering this now - RiverBelle Casino, Vegas Red Casino, Dublin Bet Casino, and many others. These games are only available to the higher-stakes players for the most part.

You can see and hear the other players at the table with you, as well as anything the dealer may say during the game. There is no software game that even comes close to the realism that these live games give the player. These games also give the players a better sense of security because they can see a real dealer deal from a regular deck. No more wondering if the software program is fixed or flawed.

Baccarat action can be found on a lot of online sites now. But which baccarat sites are the most trustworthy to play on? Bodog has one of the best reputations online for customer service and reliability. They offer great buy-in bonuses, and American players are welcome as well.

English Harbour Casino has been around since 1998 and is also known for its excellent customer support. You can bet from $5 to $600 a hand, with 5% commission going to the house on banker wins. U.S. players are welcome, and all your banking concerns have been addressed here.

Royal Vegas is another trusted site with baccarat action. They’re a member of the Fortune Lounge Group powered by Microgaming, and have been around since 1999. Get Paid to Play Baccarat

June 3rd, 2008

Baccarat is becoming more popular in North America every day. Casinos are offering the game more than ever, and there is a demand for trained baccarat dealers. If you have some type of training before trying to get a job, it will put you ahead of most other applicants. There are lots of online schools that you can learn from, and some will even help you find a job after you graduate.

Gatlin Education Serves (GES) is a good school to learn to deal the game. World Wide Gaming Academy and GES have partnered to teach you everything you need to know in order to become a Professional Baccarat Dealer. You will learn the necessary skills of shuffling, how to handle cheques, limits, and betting procedures. Once you’ve completed the course, the company will assist you in a job search, complete with a video “audition” necessary to showcase the valuable skills you’ve learned.

Online Baccarat: What Not to Do

January 22nd, 2008

What Not to Do

Online baccarat is just like regular land-based baccarat – the game is very simple to play. There is not a lot of strategy around the game, although some claim that there is a card counting system called the Predictor System that can beat the casino. Until it’s proven to work, I’m going to stick to what I know.

That includes staying away from the tie bet. It pays 8 to 1 but has a 14.36% edge going to the house in an eight-deck shoe. That’s not a good bet, and I can’t think of any situation where it would be wise to make. Even in a game that offers 9 to 1, the house edge is still large. Also, don’t forget that you owe 5% on all banker bet wins, payable when you leave the table. And don’t bet exclusively on the player, that gives the house an edge.

Online Baccarat: Betting Systems

December 28th, 2007

There are lots of so-called experts who claim to have a system that will beat the house, if you give them $39.95. We know that betting on the Player gives the house an edge of 1.29%. We also know that betting on the Dealer gives the house a 1.01% edge. If you think betting on a tie is a good idea, the house edge on that bet is a whooping 15.75% edge, and is not a good bet.

That means if you only bet on the Dealer’s hand you will lose less money over time than betting on the Player’s hand each time. But it doesn’t matter which you bet on or how much; you will lose if you continue to play long enough. There will be times when you’ll be ahead a few bets and can walk away up some cash, and that’s the only successful system there is.

Online Baccarat: Money Management Tips

December 28th, 2007

Playing baccarat properly is simple. There are tons of betting systems out there that preach proper money management, like using progressive betting after you win. I don’t think that these systems are beneficial in any consistent manner; they will work periodically.

The truth is that the only real edge you can get in baccarat is to bet on the Banker every hand. This isn’t exactly a fun way to play the game, but you get to take advantage of the natural house edge the game has. Online baccarat commissions are smaller than land-based casino games, so that’s an additional edge.

The rule of thumb for baccarat money management is to bring at least 30 times the bet you plan on making. That should cover losing streaks when the Player will win, and you can decide to leave after a streak of Banker wins gets you ahead a few bets.

Baccarat: Valuation of Hands

December 11th, 2007

baccarat.jpg

Hand evaluation is simple enough once you understand what’s going on. The object of the game is to get as close to nine as possible without going over. In order to achieve that, the hand evaluation is a bit different than you might be used to.

All the cards 2-9 have their face value. Face cards and tens have a value of zero. When the total of the cards exceeds ten, the first digit is dropped. That means if get dealt a 5 and a 7 your total is 2 (5+7=12=2). The first number is dropped because the number cannot exceed 10.

Hands adding up to 10 are given a value of zero and are the worst hands you can get. This hand is called a “baccarat”, which means the game is named after the worst hand. If you score a nine it’s the best hand that you can get.
